I’m reminded of what someone said one day to Odilon Redon: ‘Do you understand how a Delacroix can possibily sell for less than a Muckaczy?’ To which Redon replied: ‘The reason is that no one has the power to make the price of a painting go up. An occult force controls these things, against which we all are powerless.”
